Cracks Between

New Single Out Now

“Captures that magical moment when a tyro musician is poised to go off like a rocket.” – Sunday Times Culture

“A really special artist.” – Huw Stephens

“There’s something distinctively accomplished to every move Ten Tonnes makes.” – Dork

“An extremely exciting prospect.” – DIY

TEN TONNES has been laying the foundations for a much bigger future following the release of his second EP ‘Born To Lose’ as well as sets at the Reading and Leeds Festivals. Now TEN TONNES – aka the Hertford-born musician Ethan Barnett – releases the following ‘Cracks Between’.

For ‘Cracks Between’, TEN TONNES reunited with producer and former Maccabees guitarist Hugo White to record at London studio The Drugstore. The result is three minutes of rambunctious rock ‘n’ roll energy in which Barnett’s eloquent examination of broken romance is delivered with his coolly-phrased vocal.

“I wrote ‘Cracks Between’ when I was 18,” he says. “It’s a light-hearted look at a break-up.”

After first coming to attention with his independently released EP ‘Lucy’, TEN TONNES stepped up a level with the release of the ‘Born To Lose’ EP. Huw Stephens picked the title track as his Tune of the Week on Radio 1 and invited TEN TONNES to record a session, while the widespread appeal of his music was reflected when he recorded another session for Jo Whiley at Radio 2.

All three of the EP’s tracks were featured in key Spotify playlists including New Music Friday and The Indie List.

In addition to Reading and Leeds, TEN TONNES has also played The Great Escape and Dot To Dot along with gigs as guest to The Magic Gang, Blossoms, Will Joseph Cook and Palace, and a sold-out headline show at Camden Assembly.
