‘We are proud of what we have written together this year and are enjoying experimenting by mixing different genres from Dance to Dub, Funk and beyond… It is flowing very spontaneously and we welcome my cousin Dan to the team, he is a massive young talent.’ (Sam Ritchie)

Sam and the Womp are a British group fronted by trumpeter and chief rabble-rouser Sam Ritchie and Dutch born singer/songwriter Bloom de Wilde. The group’s debut single 'Bom Bom' shot straight to No 1 in the UK music charts in August 2012 and has sold over a million copies worldwide.

Following the huge success in 2012 the band toured and played many festivals from SummerDaze in Australia to Glastonbury in UK and appeared on Top of the Pops and as special guests on X Factor! The band prioritize the party as they break free of conventional genres creating a unique alternative dance sound dubbed ‘Brass and Bass’.

Fireflies was written and recorded last year when Sam and Bloom found time to work together at The Cowshed Studio in North London. The first riff Sam played on their first day of writing new music together was the basis for Fireflies, with Bloom recording her summer inspired vocal the very same day. Dan arrived a day later to add his magic to the track.
