'Yeah, I Know'
From 'The New Vice EP'
With a debut EP under their belt and the excellently received opening salvo from EP no 2 in the ether Dublin grunge rockers Otherkin surge forward with new single, ‘Yeah, I Know’, as premiered by Annie Mac on BBC Radio 1.
‘Yeah, I Know’ picks up the momentum from previous single ‘I Was Born’ which saw the likes of Annie Mac, Clara Amfo, Phil Taggart and Huw Stephens at Radio 1 jump on board alongside John Kennedy at Radio X. To date the track has racked up over 100,000 SoundCloud plays and both singles precede their forthcoming EP The New Vice (set for June 17).
Recent headline at The Blackheart, Camden was a rip roaring success with Ticketweb saying, “By the end of it all it’s not solely the band that looks as if they have just emerged from a swimming pool. Every sweaty patron leaving content with the band’s hit single “AY AY” blissfully ringing in their ears. After experiencing these young Dubliners live, one gets the feeling that their days of playing to small crowds are certainly numbered.”
Their next UK engagements will see them hit Live At Leeds followed by two shows at The Great Escape, Brighton with summer festival appearances at Reading And Leeds, Latitude, Eurockéennes [France], Longitude [Ireland], Rock For People [Czech Republic] and Pure and Crafted [Germany] to follow.
Just like that famous scene in the movie Pulp Fiction, where Uma Thurman’s character gets a shot of adrenaline and instantly bolts upright back to consciousness, ‘Yeah, I Know’ administers that metaphorical energy burst upon the listener. Otherkin are set to snap rock back to life in 2016.
