New Single Released 31st July.

The Maccabees release their achingly beautiful new single, ‘Something Like Happiness’, July 31st on Fiction Records. Already shaping up to be a firm live favourite, the song follows the explosive single ‘Marks to Prove It’.

Since returning to the musical arena earlier this year, The Maccabees have continuously impressed with a series of stunning intimate shows earning 5* reviews and captivating radio listeners all over the world with sensational sessions. “The Maccabees have learned to pull the trigger only and exactly when necessary,” wrote NME of the band’s recent secret Great Escape show.

Currently touring across America, the band return to the UK for what promises to be a seminal Glastonbury performance on the Other Stage, Saturday June 27th.

Produced by Hugo White, The Maccabees and Laurie Latham, and written by The Maccabees - Orlando Weeks, Hugo White, Felix White, Rupert Jarvis and Sam Doyle - the majestic ‘Something Like Happiness’ is one of eleven career-defining new songs on the forthcoming new album ‘Marks To Prove It’, out July 31st.

Of the new single, Orlando says: “It’s about being really happy for someone if they’ve got something. You can feel like you have to rally against things, but people know their minds and if it brings someone contentment, then good for them.”

The artwork features the second in the series 'Midsummer Snowballs', from Andy Goldsworthy.

You can also catch The Maccabees in Aviemore August 1st at the Gentlemen of the Road show and at the Reading/Leeds Festival later that month.
