“Chief flag-bearers for riff-based rock ‘n’ roll.” – Q

“Sounds like The White Stripes ram-raiding Led Zeppelin’s back catalogue.” – Kerrang!

“A wall of sound far bigger than you could possibly imagine.” – DIY

Royal Blood’s remarkable breakthrough year commenced with a BBC Sound of 2014 and has continued with a succession of highlights including shows with Arctic Monkeys at Finsbury Park, a place on the NME Awards tour, a scintillating debut performance on Later… with Jools Holland, and a triumphant Glastonbury appearance. Now the duo can announce the release of their next single ‘Figure It Out’ on August 17th, and the August 25th release of their eagerly-anticipated self-titled debut album.

Featuring their previous single – ‘Little Monster’ and ‘Come On Over’ – as well as ‘Figure It Out’, the album is a mixture of anguished vocals, ferocious drumming and bass that provides intricate detail as well as a rumble of rhythm. Royal Blood are the result of a lineage that stretches from present day heroes Queens of the Stone Age to Led Zeppelin, and all the way back to early blues pioneers. Their ferocious attack is the result of just two men – vocalist/bassist Mike Kerr and drummer Ben Thatcher.

The album will be released on digital, CD and vinyl formats as well as an exclusive D2C package and a special white vinyl edition which will be available exclusively through Rough Trade. The album’s striking cover art was provided by Dan Hillier, an artist who is acclaimed for his black line work, combining Victorian sensibilities with a fascination for animal and landscape attributes with leanings towards the esoteric.

Pre-orders are now open at iTunes and Amazon with ‘Out of the Black’ provided as an instant grat. track A teaser trailer for the album is also live.

The band’s summer schedule features major UK and Ireland shows including Castlefield Bowl as support to The Pixies (July 10th), T in the Park (July 11th), Marlay Park, Dublin as support to Arctic Monkeys (July 12th), Reading (August 23rd) and Leeds (August 24th). They’re also confirmed to play further festivals across mainland Europe as well as an extended run of North American tour dates.
