‘GERMAN WHIP’ TO GET OFFICIAL RELEASE ON 14th APRIL 2014
Every now and then, a track comes along that unites a scene – a rare anthem that all the DJs, producers, MCs and, most importantly, fans unite behind and elevate it out of the underground. At the start of 2014, a few months after it was first uploaded to SBTV’s YouTube channel, that track is undoubtedly Meridian Dan’s Grime anthem ‘German Whip’.
Having racked up nearly two million YouTube views, ‘German Whip’ is currently on the Radio 1Xtra and Rinse FM A-lists, and has picked up big specialist support from the likes of Radio 1, Kiss and Capital. Now, following a freshly-inked deal with Acton’s finest PMR Records (Disclosure), ‘German Whip’ will get an official release on 14th April.
It marks a new chapter for the Tottenham-based MC and former boxer who’s been a key member of the North London collectives Meridian Crew and Bloodline, alongside the likes of President T, Skepta, JME, Big H, Bossman, Paper Pabs and Milli Major. It also marks an exciting new chapter for PMR Records, with Meridian Dan being the first Grime to be signed by the label who work with some of today’s most vital new artists, including Disclosure, Jessie Ware, Cyril Hahn, Dornik and Javeon. Following the release of ‘German Whip’ PMR will release Meridian Dan’s debut album later in 2014.
