Enjoyed

'Tallahassee'

Released 17th July 2015.

Summer is worth waiting for. The best things are. Doesn't mean you don’t want a taste upfront, though, right?

ENJOYED has been releasing tracks and remixes (Hot Chip, TVOTR, Femme) from his studio in deepest Hampshire to growing acclaim for the last couple of years. He’s also been working patiently and ambitiously at his debut album. You only get one. A perfectly constructed and balanced album with no filler and no fat. It seems hard and it’s much harder than it seems.

Last week, we mastered Keep To Chloe, Enjoyed’s nine track debut, a brilliant summation of everything he’s been working towards. Which is what, exactly? Well, it’s a balance of pared electronics, modern synth-pop and 90's stadium house, bound with taut organic instruments, a dash of the North African vocal hoopla that Animal Collective do so well; oh, and really big melodies.

Something In Construction (Air France, Memory Tapes, Concretes) is beyond proud to release Keep To Chloe worldwide in July. Enjoyed will be playing at parties around the country soon.

Talahassee is the first one out of the traps. Enjoyed has made no secret of his love of Chemical Brothers and Underworld and was understandably buzzed when Karl Hyde came to see him play last year. There is nothing else like it on the record but Talahassee wears those influences proudly. This one bounces out of the speakers, kicks you onto your feet and makes a break for the border. Enjoy.

“This track is an unashamed tribute to The Chems. I glued together a collection of drum recordings made at home and built them around a grumbly arpeggiated bassline, topped with vocal samples, big chords and beautifully weird noises. All the things I’ve grown up loving from the Brothers.” Peter/Enjoyed
